FTC Seeks Public Comments on Two More Proposed Whole Foods Divestitures, Docket No. 9324, FTC File No. 071 0114

To whom it may concern at the FTC: I am writing in support of A-M holdings purchasing and reopening Alfalfa's market. Growing up in Boulder, Alfalfa's Market was an integral part of our community, not only through supplying healthy and wholesome organic foods, but also as a forum for the community to gather and share our lives. Community events were often hosted at Alfalfa's Market, and it was not uncommon to spend a full afternoon or weekend day there, among friends. Alfalfa's market is part of the Boulder community's identity. Because of the local connection to Alfalfa's market, I am confident that it is the only natural foods store that will have the support to compete with the Whole Foods monopoly. Boulder is a nationally known leader in organic foods and healthy lifestyles marketing and businesses, and a locally owned store will only serve to strengthen this market. Further, many community members lost their jobs when Whole Foods acquired Wild Oats, and Alfalfa's is among the only businesses locals trust to re-hire those who were affected by the merger. I cannot stress strongly enough the local connection and love for Alfalfa's Market and all that it represents. I truly hope you will not overlook our concerns in this matter, and will allow A-M holdings to acquire and reopen Alfalfa's Market. Thank you for your time and consideration, Elena Welsh
