Since Alfalfa's Market was one of the first natural and organic food stores in the country and was a landmark store in Boulder, it seems fitting that the name should be retained when the store re-opens under the new management. The continued growth of the natural and organic foods industries in Boulder would certainly be enhanced by the market re-opening under its original name, "Alfalfa's Market" and would provide competition for the three Whold Foods stores within Boulder's city limits, competition that the principals trying to re-establish Alfalfa's successfully demonstrated in the past. My understanding is that the new management would seek to hire some of the nearly 400 people who lost their jobs in the acquisition of Wild Oats by Whold Foods. Thanks for the opportunity to comment.
