Dear Mr. Ducore, I am writing you in support of having Trader Joes in Portland, Maine. It seems that the proposed location is the site of the former Wild Oats which was bought out by Whole Foods, now located approximately 1/2 mile away. I firmly believe that bringing Trader Joes to Portland would benefit the local economy by adding competition to the "alternative grocery chain" market and most importantly, bring much needed jobs to our fine city. As a supporter of food purveyors large and small, I feel that this would be such a boon to our city. Much of our economy is based on tourism and tourists when staying for longer periods, do shop at our grocery stores. As I mentioned, competition is a wonderful thing. People like myself, who have lived in other states, know the value of stores like Trader Joes which bring quality products at extremely reasonable prices. I do hope that you will advocate on the behalf of the citizens here to help pass this measure to allow them the opportunity to bring their business to our city. Sincerely, Raminta Moore
