To the Federal Trade Commission: In the past, I have written to protest Whole Foods acquisition of Wild Oats prior to their takeover. I have written to encourage the sale of the Whole Foods former Wilds Oats property which continues to be empty and drags down the retail stores in the Marginal Way complex. I am aware of the movement to bring Trader Joe's to this location and TJ's has been contacted by me and hundreds of New England custmers numerous times about the possibility. The feedback seems to carry great interest by the Traders Joe's East organization. I ask that you please take into consideration the interests of the community in greater Portland. The location and proximity of the two stores can only be an advantage to shoppers, Whole Foods and Trader Joe's carry very different products therefore enhancing both for a healthy continuity of business and profit. I speak for quite a number of friends and acquaintances in the Portland area and beyond. Please make this purchase possible for the convenience of shoppers who travel miles out of state to purchase Trader Joe's quality food items. Thank you for your attention and regard to the interests of both business and public opinion. Sincerely, Kyle Slayback
