Excellent proposal. better late than never; should have been implemented prior to requirement for the move to High Definition TV (before so many Americans replaced their TV sets). Please Label/compare categories of TV sets by "horizontal display" in 2" increments (maximum 4" differentials, based on most common sizes to avoid overlap; example: 37" and 40" screens should not be in same category). List peak Watts, standard operating mode standby wattage, and annual expected energy use for the screen size category. Request Dept. of Energy revise "energy star" level for televisions to increase efficiencies to level used by "LED-backlit" TVs, which have much lower wattage per horizontal viewing area. Ban use of CRT televisions; CRTs only for specialized/scientific purposes.
