Proposed Amendments to the Fuel Rating Rule, FTC File No. R811005

After reading the proposed FTC ammendments to its Automotive Fuel Ratings, Certification, and Posting Rule (16 CFR Part 306)I submit the following: The proposed warning statement "May harm Some Vehicles" is a gross misrepresentation of the ethanol as a fuel! it will confuse the customer. A concise and effective alternative would be "For Flex Fuel Vehicles Only" The proposed color of the label (orange) is unacceptable and mis-leading. I recommend a dark blue with white lettering. I am surprised the octane rating was not included. I strongly suggest posting the rating thus giving the consumer the information they need to make an educated decision on the proper fuel for their vehicle. Please ensure the Ethanol concentration is specifically included on the label. I feel very strongly about the unique value that Ethanol has as a clean, environmentally sound fuel. Consumers should be given clear accurate information and allowed to make a decision. As you know, proper labeling is vital in achieving this. I use ethanol in my vehicles and will to continue to do so because it supports jobs in the US and is a clean alternative to the contaminating effects of oil. I appreciate your consideration of my opinions.
