My opinion is that you are barking up the wrong tree. The problem is not the unscrupulous practices of mortgage loan negotiators, the problem is the unscrupulous lenders! They make it impossible for anyone to negotiate and are foreclosing left and right on homeowners who are under the impression that they are in active negotiations with their lender. Case in point: Me! I tried to negotiate with my lender for 5 months before I hired a lawyer in July 09. While in active negotiations, I was given notice that my home was being auctioned in two weeks. After blocking the sale by filing bankruptcy, we opened dialogue again only to have a knock at my door from a pushy realtor telling me that the house recorded as being foreclosed. It has been a nightmare of red tape, lost paperwork, lies, and complete lack of good faith in what they say and what they actually do. If you want to help people, do something to force the banks to negotiate in GOOD FAITTH with the homeowners. Do your homework! More homeowners are being scammed by their lenders than their lawyers!!!!!
