16 CFR Part 610 Amendments to Rule to Prevent Deceptive Marketing of Credit Reports and to Ensure Access to Free Annual File Disclosures

I was alerted by my own bank that I had experianced Identity Theft and proceeded to obtain my credit reports from the top 3, Equifax, TransUnion and EXPERIAN. I did so by carefullly typing in "annualcreditreport.com" because I'd been burned before. Equifax and Transunion were no problems. Experian on the other hand got me... right in the middle of the process it must have rediredted to "experiandirect.com" because that's the charge of 14.95 that just showed up on my bank statement. The most infuriating thing is that I called Experian THE DAY I DID THE CREDIT REPORT to absolutely make sure I was not being charged or enrolling. I was assured by the experian representative that this was not the case and I would not be charged. So today I called experiandirect and talked to "Elaine #66124" and she said she cancelled my "membership" that I did not want but refused to refund me the 14.95. she gave me a fax number to try to get my refund back from. Fat chance... like that's going to happen. I am FURIOUS!
