My experience with credit reporting is identical to that described in the October 11th, 2009, below referenced, syndicated article by Michelle Singletary. Basically, the credit reporting agencies do everything they can to obscure the free service and to trick the user into subscribing to some fee-for-service that they don't need or want. The commercial service is deceptively labeled as " freecreditreport.com." The credit reporting agency reports available at the free website, "www.annualcreditreport.com", employ very deceptive and confusing techniques to attempt to trick users into ordering unwanted services. http://www.etruth.com/Know/Business/Story.aspx?ID=495408 Michelle Singletary: Let the FTC know how you feel about credit report marketing Published: 10/11/2009 12:00:00 AM Last Updated: 10/10/2009 12:08:37 AM WASHINGTON
