I have been through a very misleading hassle with obtaining my free credit report. On line requests for my credit report has lead me to a section that required a credit card number. My concern was why did they need a credit card number for a free report? This is a misleading approach to sell a product. After much waste of valuable time,I finally found my way out by requesting my report via phone. This did not allow for me to print out or view my report online at the time of request, a major inconvenience. For example, I may not want my credit report sent to me via mail and or wait to receive it. I strongly support the elimination of any commercial offers when I am attempting to review my free credit report. I think the credit bureaus have far too much power over the customer.
