16 CFR Part 610 Amendments to Rule to Prevent Deceptive Marketing of Credit Reports and to Ensure Access to Free Annual File Disclosures

I have been obtaining my "free credit report" for years, the best way was the telepphone request line that used to be available. The past few years I have been going to the website that you are now looking at revising and I whole heartedly agree that this website is the most deceiving confusing site with only one very direct route to get to your free report and if you miss that route, which I did this past spring, 1) you will not get your free report without jumping through many many hoops, which I had to do and I still have not received my report from Transunion. I believe that every bit and form of advertisement should be taken off this free site, I know how to ask these companies if I want them to moniter my credit or not and I do not have to be tricked into it and that is exactly what they are doing The FTC should also make them allow me the consumer an opportunity that if for some reason I do not negotiate through a simplified request site that I can start over, today you cannot. I feel that I am a fairly literate and intelligent person, however, to me it seems as though these sites are getting more and more difficult each year. Again I say, please make them take all forms of advertisement for a paid service completely off the "free" website. P.S. I did filee a complaint this past spring for what I felt at the time was a complete "sham" on the part of these credit bureas and again I still have not gotten my 2009 version of my free credit report from Transunion.
