As a consumer who has used the AnnualCreditReport.com website, I am writing with comments regarding site usability and consumer fairness. I believe that the credit bureaus should not be allowed to advertise additional services on the site. I believe that they should be required to disclose both the credit report, and credit scores, that they maintain on consumers. The site should produce readable PDF reports, with understandable graphs and account charts, for printing and saving. Rather than being a link to 3 different sites, AnnualCreditReport should be a one stop shop for pulling all three credit bureau reports. The site should enable easy reminder e-mails to let consumers know when they can obtain their reports again in 12 months, without signing up for marketing emails. Finally, the sites should clearly disclose that consumers in most states are able to place low-cost freezes on credit, and enable an easy way to sign up for a credit freeze. This would enhance consumer security, and communicate rights that most consumers receive through various state laws.
