I definitely applaud the FTC for helping give citizens access to their Credit Report for free. Unfortunately, the Credit Report is just half of the crucial equation when it comes to personal finance and future financial decisions. I would love to see the FTC also request that citizens be given access to their Credit Score from each credit bureau, in additional to our Credit Reports, for free. Since the Credit Score seems to be the "magic number" that businesses and banks look at when it comes to deciding if you should be given a loan, allowed to live at an apartment, sold insurance, and other aspects of your life, citizens and consumers should be allowed to see it -- no strings attached. -- I also agree with the FTC looking into having companies, such as "freecreditreport.com", sending customers to a landing page that reads, "This is not the free credit report provided for by federal law." I feel this should be taken a step further in which commercials for these services must state both visually and audibly that they are NOT the same free credit report service provided for by the federal government. -- I look forward to the FTC's response to these issues and hope they will do everything they can to look out for the consumer. Thank you.
