From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
It is not the government's role to ensure journalism's existence in any particular format. News is a commodity and organizations that do not adapt to technology development should not be subsidized by consumers who have moved away from any particular delivery format. Neither should organizations that have made the adaptation to the consumers' desired delivery be penalized or taxed to support news organizations that cannot attract an audience on their own. Adapt or die.
