From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
What is it that the FTC, the Congress, and the current administration do NOT understand about the Constitutional protections against limiting free speech in the USA ?? We can allow tasteless, obscene "art" to be funded by the NEH to be displayed in public forums, but we cannot allow ideas, facts, or history which might run counter to the current liberal political agenda to air in public? What sort of political discrimination masks itself under such a transparent cloak as this? If the journalism moguls who dispense their pap through newspapers and news magazines today would abandon their biased agenda for propagandizing the public, and would instead, publish objective, non-editorialized news and factual truths, perhaps the public wouldn't be flocking to the Internet for their news and would continue to support print media. The message is perfectly clear: Either stop presenting the public with propagandized news or lose readership and profit. That is what free enterprise and capitalism is all about, isn't it? It is apparent in the Constitution that the federal government has no authority to moderate, mediate, influence, or otherwise control the public or private media. The founders put the First Amendment FIRST for a reason, for without a free press, we do not have a free nation.
