It is outrageous to try to bring back - and then expand - the pernicious (un)Fairness Doctrine. The government does not own the Internet, and the idea that its speech - especially POLITICAL speech - could be regulated is un-American at the core. Certainly, it violates the US Constitution, Amend. 1. How dare you presume to impose government tyranny through regulation of speech? How dare you establish a govt. propaganda arm for inside the US? What you are proposing to do is patently illegal and flies in the face of what makes America great and unique in the world and in civilized history. The press needs no government help; it needs freedom from government control, which is what will happen if government begins "supporting" the press. Is this a crass exercise of power to limit the free expression of talk radio and the internet, which are free expressions of a free people? Don't use my tax dollars to undo the Bill of Rights. In our system of enumerated, limited powers, you don't have the power. We explicitly have rights to free speech. Quit conspiring to break the law and impose your brand of tyranny. The American people won't stand for it.
