From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
Journalism must be driven by the free market system not at taxpayers expense. Journalists are some of the most creative in the world, fully capable of fixing their own problems without government "help."We are already burdened with a failing economy. No more bailouts! No more big government regulation! More importantly,there is a Constitutional mandate that disallows government to "abridge the freedom of speech , or of the press." If these new proposals enacted, there is a clear danger of government becoming the "tail that wags the dog." We have already seen the effects of this in Nazi Germany and modern day Venezuela. Government must not intrude in this situation!
