From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
Government funding of journalism, or multi-media courses or programs, by definition, eliminates the concept of free speech". It is speech and thoughts paid for by the government, and cannot be tolerated in a free society.........unless, of course, that is the ultimate goal; channeling, and or limiting thought and speech. Neither the Federal Trade Commission nor the Federal Communications Commission may be allowed to sponcer, fund, nor teach any spoken or written courses in journalism or multi-media. This would directly violate the concept of "freedom of speech".
