From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
The FTC's efforts to "transform" journalism includes a number of actions which are designed (or will certainly result in) the suppression of free speech by conservatives. Whether these actions are new taxes, government-sponsored "training" for new journalists or new licensing requirements in the interest of "diversity" and "fairness"...all of these are designed to suppress the free flow of information. Liberal media is in trouble because it is one-sided and does not attempt to ferret out the larger issues behind the news. There is every opportunity for liberals to have talk shows, blogs, and stations if they want them, but for some reason these have not been successful. Please don't try to remedy this artificially through the guise of "fairness". This is a total sham and you should be ashamed! Phyllis Nolan
