From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
The news organizations are businesses like anything else and must learn to adapt to changing business climate and technology. I DO NOT SUPPORT any form of federal bailout of the media. Would the government have a say in reporting of the "news" then through regulations put in place as they have tried with the banking and auto industry? My taxpayer dollars would in effect support the very liberal biased media that I stopped watching because of their one sided reporting and gushing support of this administration. It was obvious all through the election that they were trying to get this president elected. Is this his form of payback now? Sure looks obvious to me. I also DO NOT SUPPORT a taxpayer funded journalism division of AmeriCorps. Just another way of forcing me to pay for more one sided government trained "journalists" Do you have any idea how upsetting it is to have your values constantly ridiculed by the media and then being forced to fund them with your tax dollar? And of course If this administration is going to bailout the media, you can bet none of it will be what they consider "conservative" or balanced media. Of course that's the whole purpose of this workshop, right? To silence any form of dissent through a tax plan or regulations put in place as part of a bailout? Thank you for considering my opinion.
