From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
The Constitution says that we shall kave freedom of speech, freedom of the press, the right to assemble. The intent of this administration to take away these freedoms cries of the same intent of some of the worst periods in the world's history. What can only be seen as a step towards total control of our lives by this government, also shows that we are losing the ear of those in Washington elected to represent what we feel is the correct way of keeping our liberties. While the issue seems to be the Conservatives' control of radio, why is it never seen that the liberal, no, the progressives' control over T.V. and most of the press has poisoned most of the citizens' thought process. This is all right, while the rest of us cannot speak our mind? Is the seat of power so blind by their ambitions that they are discriminating and bent on destroying all this country stands for? While previous administrations were criticized for more regulations put on American society, this administration jumps past the process in place, and does everything it can to further the socialistic, almost dictatorial nightmare of the progressive agenda. The Constitution is what we need to follow. Period. THIS IS AMERICA, NOT EASTERN EUROPE! The pretentiousness of this administration to do as they please for their own means is a sad commentary of what the political system has metastisized itself into. The FTC should not bow down to a supposed monopoly of the airwaves. The proposal is so one-sided. That is un-American. Do not take away our liberties. Thank you.
