From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
In order to save paper, newspaper outlets could utilize the internet to deliver their content. In order to be viable in the future they need to provide news and useful articles that are worth the cost of investment by their customers. The mainstream TV outlets will also require truly newsworthy and accurate representation of the news. If their viewers are conservative, then they need to supply programming that will meet the needs of their viewers or risk becoming obsolete as others take their place that will provide what consumers are looking for. It seems that free market forces are working in Journalism in an acceptable manner, companies need to adjust their product to meet the needs of the consumer or risk becoming obsolete as others take their place that will provide what consumers are looking for. It does not appear that federal government intervention is necessary.
