From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
To whom it may concern: This country was founded on innovation and thought. Those who created of offered a product or service flourished. Those that did not, disappeared. However, even many of those that flourished, managed to disappear over time. Why? Because times change. The buggy maker of 1864 is a perfect example. Print journalism, while once having great need and appreciation is on the verge of becoming today's buggy maker. This is the fundamental property of a free market society. It simply is not the government's responsibilty to keep an industry alive if it can not support itself. Subsequently, it is not the government's place to use my tax dollars to keep a business going.
