From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
The FTC should refrain from taking ANY action on this issue. Just as town criers were replaced by newspapers, so newspapers will be replaced by TV news programs and internet news sites. Journalism will survive fine, but only if it changes with the times. Some journalists may seek a new employer in the TV or internet field. And this is good. If fewer people wish to get their news from a printed page, listen to the market/consumer. Do not intervene and waste tax dollars trying to stem an inevitable tide.
