From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
My comment is in regard to the efforts by the Obama administration to take over another industry, namely the news media, to crush free speech on talk radio, cable news and the internet. I recognize that the news industry is struggling, so is the rest of the economy! It occurs to me that if the Obama love-fest media were reporting the truth, the American public would be more likely to read and listen to them. As with all industry, over time, something else comes along that is an improvement and the consumer turns to that new product and/or service. The left-wing media needs to learn to use the internet instead of trying to destroy it. The internet has made it possible for people to access information, to get higher education online, to start and run profitable businesses, just to mention a few benefits. It has made it possible for another market to open up in the provision and service of the internet - businesses operating in the FREE marketplace! The internet, cable news and talk radio have made it possible for the public to keep an eye on our so-called "public servants" and call them to accountability! I believe that this is the actual motivation for the Obama administration pushing to "control" the internet, talk radio and Fox T.V.- to take away our freedoms and make another money and power grab!
