From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
Enroachment on the freedom of the press or citizenry in any way, shape or form is a denial of FREE SPEECH. Please realize the value to public discourse. Understand that without the existence of extremes no one can find the middle!!! Citizens have a right to absorb all information and formulate their own thinking. That's the hallmark of a FREE SOCIETY and DEMOCRACY. Do not do any further enroachment on free speech in the press or media or you will have emliminated the moderates by lack of access to the whole story. Note also that NPR and PBS are not committed to unbiased reporting. I listen to them every day and deplore the lack of middle ground in their presentations. I have helped fund NPR and listen because I support free speech but am saddenned that taxpayer's monies go in any way to support biased reporting. NPR and PBS must change to have my appreciation as well as support.
