From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
The federal Govt. should stay out of the free market for journalistic media and let the people control it through use/non-use. If, we the people, decide to let newspapers,tv, or magazines fail then that is our right and decision. The government has no busines trying to regulate the Internet either. Please refrain from usurping powers not granted by the Constitution or by public consent. The government should refrain from trying to use media for propaganda or brain washing techniques. The media will fail because it has insisted on giving opinions/slants/takes and spins instead of doing the job media was created to do. The job is to impartially report the day's news. No opinions needed. The people of this country will not look favorably on a bail out of the mass media. It's unconstitutional in my opinion. Why don't you post a question poll on the net where people can find it after the tv stations and other media announce it? Let the people vote on whether to spend our money to bail out the opinionated mass media.
