From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
I am STRONGLY OPPOSED to to the Federal Trade Commission's proposed plan to reinvent journalism as outlined in its "Potential Policy Recommendations to Support the Reinvention of Journalism". Your plan to tax U.S. citizens to pay for a "Citizenship Media Fund" to bail out the journalism industry is this administration's way to take control of a private industry. In this case, the government will be violating the first amendment to the U.S. Constitution by "abridging the freedom of speech (and) of the press." The FTC, FCC, Congress, or any other government entity has no right to regulate or interfere with the freedom of the press in the United States!
