From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
There is an evolution occuring in the delivery of our news. This is a natural occurance as we move along our life path. To consider taxing the electronic media to support the paper jounalist is an injustice. It would be like having a tax on cars years ago so that we could support buggy whip manufacturs and equarians who were displaced by mechanics. Another intimidating result would be government influance in the freedom of the press. If the government is paying for training and wages of the journalist, wouldn't that impose a bias, whether intentioned or not? There is a separation of church and state, and there should also be a separation of news and state. This is America, not Russia or China, at least not yet. Please abandon this project.
