From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
I want NO interference by the government in either public or privately owned journalistic efforts.. I want no more funding directed to the likes of NPR, and in fact think ALL funding to NPR and the likes should be ceased..! And NO funding to print or airwave media outlets. They should be allowed to go the way of Air America. The public obsiously didn't like Air America's efforts or their message... The same goes for print media. The public has the choice to read either in almost all cases, either by hard copy or via email subscriptions, like the WSJ, NYT's and many other print media companies now offer. If we want it we'll subscribe to it. If we don't we will not.! And no amount of money you throw at liberal efforts, like Air America (now defunct) or NPR (which would be without Federal funding), will change Americans minds on what they want to see or hear or watch. Private and or corporate funding will continue to fund those efforts and media that are successful, and will continue to allow those that are not to fail. I want NO governemnt interfernce in the media as it exists today. The LOC (Librayr of Congress) is already 'saving' everything being printed for anyone who wishs to read it. Everybody with a modicom of common sense knows the FTC's intent is to 'medle' with the content and text of what is being published today. The far left progressives and their agendas are nor welcome by the majority of taxpayers like me. Bob Dowell
