From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
It is my opinion that this is a very dangerous conversation. It goes against the core principle of a free press, allowing conversations and ideas from all sides. If the business model of certain media outlets is a failure, then in a free market, it should be allowed to fail. If my show fails, I move on, reconfigure my show and start again, or find another way to deliver the content. Government has no business taxing or regulating the media, and or subsidizing it. Given the state of the economy, and the current climate regarding bailouts, this under the radar "meeting" has a very dubious appearance.
