From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
The role the FTC should assume is that of neutral bystander. The consequences that news organizations took on, by financially overextending themselves, should really be the concern of their lenders, not the Commission. Journalism should be, and will be, backed by functional business models, whether in use now or still under development. I'd recommend a hands-off approach, laissez-faire, so that market forces prevail. That's the most cost-effective option available. Thank you.
