From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
To Whom It May Concern: I am saddened by the fact that this admnistration wishes to censor, regulate, tax and control our free speech. A Fairness Doctrine that poses an ominous threat to conservative speech and would empower the Obama administration to control the dissemination of information while imposing punitive taxes on ideological oppoents says to me that this administration is not very secure. This country was founded by men who freely shared ideas and protected our free speech in the Constitution. Why is that now not good enough for these United States? Discussion of different ideas, philosophies and opinions is what makies this country unique and great. Controlling our free speech makes us ordinary and less than free. Just say "No" to the 47 page bureaucratic plan for the Reinvention of Journalism and honor our forefathers who set us on a course that has served us well for hundreds of years.
