From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
The FDC plan for the “Reinvention of Journalism” outlines a series of taxes and actions that would stifle free speech and silence controversial comment. The First Amendment to OUR constitution spells out the freedom we enjoy to speak freely without fear of recrimination or prosecution. The FDC proposal is a direct attack on freedom of the press. No government should ever act to direct the free flow of information. For any government to promote a specific point of view or furnish support to any particular viewpoint is antithetical to the Constitution's First Amendment directing that "Congress will make [NO] law respecting....., or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the [PRESS];...." Seems clear to me!!!!
