From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
Jounalism is surviving, thriving and profiting just fine among some organizations in spite of the internet age. They are thriving because the public supports them in overwhelming numbers. The current administration apparently wants to subsidize the organizations that are failing with taxpayer money. I object to this subsidization as a method of forcing the american taxpayer to support that which it rejects. These organizations are failing because the public recognizes their poor job performance, and the existence of thriving news organizations is proof of that fact. Therefore those failing organizations should be allowed to fail without being rewarded for their abhorrent performance with taxpayers money.
