From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
Hello Federal Trade Commission, We oppose the efforts of the government to intervene in the free market of the various forms of media. Let the market function; those entities that cannot survive, should not be subsidized for a lot of reasons. It is not the governments function to decide which media outlet ought to survive. The country is quickly going bankrupt and should not spend money trying to "regulate" the various media outlets. I think this tax on the media to prop up legacy media is another power grab by the Federal government and is outrageous. In a free country like the United States, there needs to be a clear separation of government and media, since the media is expected to act as a government watchdog. You did not know that? Please cease your efforts to control the media for the sake of the future of this country. The United States needs an unregulated and untaxed media to keep the US strong. We will be following this legislation very closely. Tom Watson
