From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
Taxing free speech over the internet cannot be tolerated. If the standard issuers of news over the years, i.e., newspapers, magazines cannot stay in business because advertising dollars are put into internet news sites, so be it. Many industries have had heydays, then died out as they no longer can compete in the marketplace. Why do the U.S. citizens have to bail out journalists? This is ridiculous. Therefore, the reason the FTC and others are proposing new regulations on internet sites is that they want the government to control free speech--an oxymoron?
