From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
The concept of government taxing citizens and/or commerce for the purpose of providing funds to journalistic organizations is nonsense. The free market generously rewards and supports all forms of viable news reporting without government intervention. Likewise, the notion of "Fairness Doctrine" is a flagrant insult to human reason. Any individual is capable of deciding what they feel is "fair" regarding news and information. Government involvement in deciding fairness of news information smacks of totalitariam policy traits.
