From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
This "Reinvention of Journalism", this bureaucratic plan, which says "tax" 95 times and has a substantial list of the sources and ways that will force taxpayers to fund a government media. This 47 page plan is likely a blueprint for legislation to help this administration control the information and media messaging. Here is my advice for the future of journalism. Is the information presented in journalism credible, unbiased and truthful? The charges during the HC vote was that Tea Party members used racial and gay slurs against congress members, was blanketed over the airwaves, but no proof has ever been presented to support that charge, even with a 100K reward being offered. The effort has been nonstop to paint peaceful debate and dissent as racist, intolerant, ignorant, etc. Our own president has used his podium to attack half of the country and the drumbeat has been constant to paint patriots who care enough to step out and protest as enemies and dangerous. Grandmothers, retired, working class, moms, everyday people who love America as dangerous??? It is the most disgustingly dishonest slander! People are insulted by the blatant dishonesty they sense and all the worthless and false T.V. news that so many put out to distract us from the things that matter. Real journalists have ethics, do the homework, get informed and don't sell out. My advice to journalists working for the government. If you want to present the media in a propaganda sort of way, manipulating consciousness and opinions with no opposing viewpoint, you cannot force the taxpayers to pay for it. Use your own money. Pres. Obama said he would not raise our taxes ONE DIME. What happened to that? Yet he and this administration, must find ways to silence and tax dissenting charges and opinions from people who provide alternative information sources as well as the gadgets that people use to access them. Read the bureaucratic plan. Is this administration so intolerant of different viewpoints, so afraid of being intellectually challenged that they must force their will on a preferably ignorant, dependent, powerless and misinformed populous --by way of controlling the media? Is this really coming from the sworn defenders of our Constitution? We have to protect our freedoms, or they will be taken away. That goes for anyone currently enjoying some seat of privilege now in this administration, because sooner or later they will be the victim of their own bad votes, especially when they fail to tow the line. Am I a dangerous person for saying so? I am 5 ft. 1 inch tall. I am profoundly saddened by what I am seeing and will stand for what is good and right.
