From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
I unequivocally oppose any and all efforts to censor, limit, or restrain free speech – on conservative or Christian talk radio, on the internet or anywhere else. Please do not attempt to apply new taxes to the internet or talk radio. I also oppose any efforts to have taxpayers pay for journalists or their education. I object to any sort of a "journalism Americorps." Ideas and technology change with time. The failure of major newspapers and network TV to adjust to the public's need for more balanced news and reporting have led to their failure. It is not the government's responsibility to bailout the New York Times or CBS. Fair and balanced is why Fox News and Limbaugh lead in ratings. We need less government intervention in the information age, not more. Sincerely, Kris M. Urdahl
