From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
The news paradigm is indeed changing. Some newspapers will wither and die. Others will find new ways to prosper. That's how it has always worked with CHANGE. One the one hand, I'm sorry because I choose to subscribe to 2 newspaper, one local, one national, which I delight in reading over breakfast! But if more and more people prefer to get their news from the Internet or broadcast media, it is not up to the government to tax them to feed a dead or dying industry! The FTC has no business propping up any industry! It's not up to the FTC or any other government entity to put taxpayer money into saving "journalism!" No government-sponsored newspaper could be without government bias. Believe me. I also read foreign newspapers on the web. HANDS OFF!
