From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
The government, the FTC, and the FCC have no right and no Constitutional authority to mess with press freedom. In third world nations, the government sends troops or rioters to TV stations and newspapers to seize complete control of the media. Here you are trying to do it with the FCC and FTC. The government should in no way intefere with the press. Journalism will always be here, and the media outlets that grow and adapt will survive in a free society. Any move to regulate, financially support, tax the people to support, etc. the press will result in a press that is no longer free. This is in direct violation of the Constitution. It is very clear that the intent of this discussion is to silence media outlets that are not in keeping with the views of the current administration, and it is an affront to every freedom-loving American.
