It is not the job of government or any branch, agency or department of government to interfere with free speech. In fact is IS the job of government to ensure the first amendment right of free speech is protected at all costs, through all administrations and under all circumstances. The FTC has no Constitutional authority to tax or limit speech in any of it's permutations including the internet. Under NO circumstances does the FTC or any part of government have the authority to FORCE citizens and taxpayers to finance a government controlled or sanctioned media through taxation or any other means. We the people will support media at OUR discretion by our own choices. Even if you were contemplating reining in some of the hate speech I've read on sites such as the Huffington Post or Move On.org I would still oppose your overreach and the unconstitutionality of it. Nor does your sister agency the FCC have such authority and their area IS communications. Instead of working so hard to abridge our constitutional rights, try readint the Constitution again...and again until you understand your limits. It is the document all American government has taken an oath to uphold...not undermine or ignore.
