From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
Dear FTC, June 9, 2010 Journalism is and will survive just fine without Federal Government intervention, even if the intervention is supposedly just for training future journalists. There are plenty of media outlets for journalism professionals to ply their trade and receive an appropriate compensation. Technology has changed in the media world and the profession will need to change accordingly. It can and will do so without the help of any federal government intervention and especially without the help of the public's tax money. If a journalism media cannot fund itself through private and/or subscription sources, then it needs to find a different media method until it is self sustaining. Please do not use my tax money to further Government intervention into the journalism medium. Please leave journalism and the press as a FREE PRESS, as allowed in the U.S. Constitution and please do not use Government to intervene. Thank you . Robert E. Nelson
