From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
To Whom it may Concern: As a loyal American I am really in fear of losing my freedom of speech-1st Amendment. The congressmen that are trying to put back the Fairness Doctrine need to be stopped. We have currently availibile various sources of media from the internet, tv and radio and it should stay that way. We are not Venezuela. This is America and we as American citizens can listen to as many sources as we need and wish to make our own decisions what is right for ourselves and our country. Because they want to shutup what they consider to be an overwhelming bias on conservative radio this not their problem to resolve. This is America and we should be able to listen to all and whatever we choose. They have overstepped their boundaries as a Congress when they want to decide what is best for us. We are intelligent mature adults and the greatness of America was founded on our right to have diverse opinions and every person is allowed to express that. If the Ftc prohibits any of that or trys to stifle it with unnecessary burdens of taxes that is indirectly influencing our ability in America for free speech, this is a violation of the Bill of Rights-amendment 1 and should be stopped immediately. Unfortunately, we have lost a lot of our power to a Congress that has overstepped their bounds and this has to be stopped. America is still "We the People", I have not seen anything that suggests changing it to "We the administration and the current Congress" Do not allow any changes to be made. "I" have a right to what I want to listen to, read and discuss and only God can take that away from me. The American people have had enough.
