From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
I strongly oppose the FTC being involved in the "business" of journalism. No where in the constitution does the federal government or the FTC have the right to control, monitor, restrict, or otherwise foster any news agencies, internet, radio, or any other form of communication. It is not the job of the federal government or any regulating arm of the federal government to bailout, prop up, or otherwise interfere with any news agency, publishing enterprise (electronic or paper), or company involved in the disbursement or dissemination of information or ideas. This is a very bad and misdirected act on the part of the FTC.
