From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
To Whom It May Concern: Free speech as granted in the US Constitution is free. Any federal restriction by taxing or penalizing entities for airing opposing views of the current administration or policies is not in the best interest of the majority of US citizens. The "Fairness Doctrine" which is being attempted to be railroaded through is anything but fair. Most of today's media slants stories to their view instead of reporting the facts as they are and letting the public make their decisions based on the facts not view points. Your 47 page plan for the "Reinvention of Journalism" is nothing more than an effort to stop freedom of speech and the truth and replace it with what the government wants people to hear. That happens is Cuba, Russia, China, and other Communist countries. This is the United States of America and it is a republic and is supposed to be governed by the Constitution and not dictated by a group of socialist bureauocrats.
