From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
The broader sources for news and comment now available are not a problem, it's valuable progress. Opposing or trying to limit it is like opposing radio when it arrived, or television when it arrived, due to the impact upon newspapers. Trying to prop up a declining means of communication is counter productive. Trying to subsidize some forms of media and inhibit others through taxation is simply impeding progress, and an infringement upon Freedom of the press.
