From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
As an avid newspaper reader and news radio listener since I was five years old (very true), I resent any attempt or effort to further control journalism, either in the form of newspapers or other media, to include any bailouts, taxes, etc.. As a large part of journalism these days is to report so-called news as it is heard second or third-hand without verification or any investigation, bail-outs or any controls would probably lead to less accuracy and completeness of the news. Additionally, any additional regulation, in any form, could be used to allow a corrupt administration to control the media in a negative way. Thank you for your attention.
