From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
Dear FTC, Journalism will have to "survive" just like any other business. If you have a product people want they will buy and the business will prosper. In today's journalism market, there are too many "biased" reporters/editors that do not report the news but "tell" the reader what the reporter wants to push on the main stream public. Until this changes, you will never see people like me interested in supporting the journalists. And the LAST thing I want to see is BIG GOVERNMENT bailing out another failing organization with mine and my children's future taxes. The fact that the FTC is even "looking" into helping these journalists reminds me of Big Government trying to control one more of the checks and balances We the People have with an over reaching Government. I do not want to see the News Media any closer in bed with any Government official/agency than they are at this time. Which by the way is already way too close.
